Discord Roles, Permissions, & Features Update
We’ve made some substantial changes to the server and are excited to share these updates with you!
New Roles
Staying with our medieval naming conventions, we’ve reorganized and curated a new selection of member and staff roles. You can review these in-depth via #γπγroles-perms but the condensed edition is that all users start as a Serf and by way of activity on the server, can gradually increase their rank via an XP system that is monitored by @DadBot and as you increase in rank, you will unlock additional permissions such as uploading files, streaming in voice channels, using external emojis, etc. We’ve also added five new special titles for donators and server boosters to choose from. Additionally, @Hand of the King, @Small Council, and the nominal rank of @Royal Guard round out our Staff positions (obviously behind myself and @Ζ€πππππΎβ£πππ).
Dual Text/Forum Channels
At its core, Infamous Omen is just a group of close-knit friends who wanted to create a hub of likeminded gamers to connect with at any given time on any given day. What we’ve found is that there is a community here, an opportunity to manifest something truly special. So, while the theme of this community, and by extension this Discord server, will ebb and flow with the demands of our core group, we still want to offer a variety of popular games to discuss, exchange information on, and seek groups for. We currently offer channels for Minecraft, Warzone, Apex Legends, Diablo 4, World of Tanks, Rust, World of Warcraft, Destiny 2, Phasmophobia, Rainbow Six Siege, and Ultima Online. Most of these games have a standard text channel for general discussion with a secondary forum-style channel for “evergreen content”, which is continually relevant content such as class builds for WoW, building tutorials for Minecraft, map strategies for Rainbow, or tier lists for Tanks. Choose your Channels/Alerts
From # Channels & Roles, you can choose which game channels you are interested in and opt-in to various notifications. For example, you can choose to only see Warzone and Apex channels and unsubscribe from Community Pings such as this one but continue being alerted to giveaways and community events. If you change your mind later, you can always go back and make new selections. These options will continue to be updated over time as new games are added, old games are removed, or we add new notification choices.

New and existing members of this server also have access to our # Server Guide which contains our server’s Resource Pages. They are:
- Community Guidelines β these are the rules by which everyone on this server must adhere to, in conjunction with Discord’s Terms of Service. Our Guidelines are subject to change at our discretion and it is your responsibility to remain informed of these changes.
- Roles & Permissions β a thorough breakdown of our server’s user roles and permissions. As with our Guidelines, these too are subject to change.
- Channel Overview & Guidance β this post offers a brief summary of most of what I’ve covered in this announcement.
